Prevent risks of severe injuries in our fields of football
Five months ago a player of the C. E. Berga suffered a severe injury of his knee to hit against a cutting surface of a stick of the goals of Football 7 that there are in the lateral of the Berga’s field. These folding goals are present in the majority of our fields where there are teams of football base. The design of this stick clearly left an exposed dangerous surface. These are aluminium sticks that in other models bring rubbers of protection but no in these that’s more frequent in our fields. I explained it to the Atletic Gironella and took few days in looking for a solution (cover it). This week it has been done (photo attaches) with an integral and sized protection. The topic has been notified to the Delegation of the Berguedà of the Catalan Federation of Football and expects that they take the timely measures in all the fields where there is this model of goal for Football 7. We remember that if there are goals of Football 7 is because they play boys where the injuries still can be graver.
The normative IN748 is exigible to the manufacturers of these goals as a normative of international quality and of prevention of this type of injuries. This normative of the 2004 collect elements of functionality and of security very concrete. In concrete this normative specifies that the profiles and supports have to have a rounding radius of 3 mm, increasing to 4 mm for the main goals. Like this they avoid cutting sidewalks. When it’s not possible, then they protect it, that is what has been done in Berga. In this norm does not exist a specification or normalisation for the Goals of Football 7, that’s the reason why we have to apply the general criteria of the normative. We have to protect this irregularity and give a good maintenance to the solution, because we will save important injuries. For the moment in Berga and Gironella the problem is solved.
